The Cardiff Cottage dates back to 1863 and, depending on which source you read, was either renamed from The Cottage to the Cardiff Cottage, or vice versa. It’s a narrow city centre pub operated by Brains and offers the usual Brains beers as well as traditional pub grub such as pies.
Bunch of Grapes, Pontypridd, South Wales

The Bunch of Grapes is a pub located in Pontypridd, south Wales and is one of three pubs owned by the Otley Brewing Co. The brewery is located in a nearby industrial estate. The Bunch was built around 1800 and was the second pub to join the brewery’s portfolio. It consists of a large public bar with a small conservatory and beer garden and an award-winning restaurant that serves high quality hand prepared food, made from Welsh produce.
The Tynant Inn, Morganstown, South Wales

The Tynant Inn is located in Morganstown, north of Cardiff. The pub was originally built in 1815 with the original facade now forming the back of the bar. Owned by Brains, The Tynant underwent a refurbishment in August 2009 when the old village bar was incorporated into the main bar area and some walls were knocked down to make additional space.
Dempsey’s, Cardiff

Dempsey’s is a traditional Irish pub located in the centre of Cardiff opposite Cardiff Castle. The pub doesn’t offer anything fancy in terms of the decor but they have a good selection of Brains beers and is very popular on match day. The pub is also home to ‘South Wales’ No.1 Celtic Supporters Club’ and the walls are decorated with shirts and memorabilia.
The Hunters Moon, Llangattock Lingoed, Wales

The Hunters Moon is a 13th Century pub located in the hamlet of Llangattock Lingoed near the border between Wales and England. The nearest town is Abergavenny which is about a 15 minute drive away. The pub is not easy to get down and involves driving along some narrow single track roads.
Highbury Vaults, Bristol

The Highbury Vaults is owned by Young’s and apparently dates back to the 1800s. Inside the pub it’s very traditional with a lot of wood panelling and very little light. The selection of beer ranges from two Youngs beers (bitter and London Gold) to the regulars of Bath Gem, St Austell Tribute and Brains SA to guests from the Bristol Beer Factory and Downton.
The Skirrid Inn, Nr Abergavenny, Wales

The Skirrid Inn is one of Wales’ oldest pubs and it claims to date back to 1100. The pub, located in Llanvihangel Crucorney, near Abergavenny, contains some original features including the stone structure. The front door of the pub is also old dating back to the 16th century.
Toronado, San Francisco

The Toronado, San Francisco is well known for its selection of beers and when you visit you aren’t disappointed. There’s a huge board full of the beers available on tap plus they also have a large selection of bottles from Belgium and the US. In total there are around 100 beers on offer.
Cardinal’s Hat, Worcester, England

The first reference to the Cardinal’s Hat is in 1497, when the inn was designated as being one of the depots for the City’s fire hooks (hooks used to pull down burning parts of buildings to prevent the spread of fire). It is believed that the pub is a lot older than this first reference and is considered one of the oldest pubs in Worcester.
Zero Degrees, Cardiff

In marketing speak, Zerodegrees “is a pioneering drinking and dining concept at the forefront of the emerging trend towards fresh, handcrafted beers brewed by microbreweries”. Created in 2000, Zerodegrees can be found in 4 locations around the UK – Cardiff, Reading, Bristol and London. Each Zerodegrees brews its own beer on-site and integrates the brewing equipment into each buildings architecture giving them a futuristic appearance.
