Bunch of Grapes, Pontypridd, South Wales

The Bunch of Grapes is a pub located in Pontypridd, south Wales and is one of three pubs owned by the Otley Brewing Co. The brewery is located in a nearby industrial estate.
The Bunch was built around 1800 and was the second pub to join the brewery’s portfolio. It consists of a large public bar with a small conservatory and beer garden and an award-winning restaurant that serves high quality hand prepared food, made from Welsh produce.

There is a large selection of beer available including a few from the brewery, 3 or 4 guest ales, some unusual foreign lagers such as DAB, Lindeboom and Paulaner and a very large bottle selection including 8 from Brew Dog and plenty of foreign beers.
One thing that’s unusual for a pub is that they bake and sell their own bread. I purchased a loaf of sundried tomato bread when I visited and it was as good as you’d get from a bakery. It is very odd asking for a pint of beer and a loaf of bread.
The pub has beer festivals throughout the year including one in May and one in October. The beer festival in October, their Oct-o-Bar-Fest is split between the Bunch and the Otley Arms in nearby Trefforest. Last year’s festival had around 30 beers and a shuttle bus to ferry you between the two venues.
