1st New Inn Beer Festival, 2010

Held on the weekend of October 23rd, 2010, the New Inn Hotel in Gloucester held its first beer festival.

The Venue

Held at the excellent New Inn Hotel (read review) in the heart of Gloucester city centre, the festival featured a good selection of beers and ciders along with entertainment. There are a few different bars in the pub and the casks were stored in the wine bar at the rear of the pub. This area is spacious enough to hold the beer and also has plenty of room for seating. Bands performed in one of the rooms in this bar.

The venue offers a wide variety of seating and you are free to take your dirnk to the main bar, the restaurant, site outside in the courtyard or to watch live sport.

The Beer

Around 17 beers were available from breweries all over the country such as Brew Dog, Wickwar, Severn Vale, Elgoods, Skinners, RCH, Stonehenge, Newmans, O’Hanlons, Moles, Cotswold Spring, St Austell and Festival. And as the pub usually serves a great selection of beer, there were another 7 available in the main bar. The beer cost £3 a pint in the festival area and £2.80 a pint in the main bar.
