The Feathers, London

Location and Interior
The pub is located on Broadway just across the road from St James’s Underground Station and the headquarters of the London Transport Executive. A bit further down the street is New Scotland Yard and around the corner on Petty France is the Ministry of Justice.
The spacious pub is split over two floors. I only sat downstairs so I’m not sure how big the upstairs is or whether there is an additional bar. The downstairs has a mixture of seating including comfortable leather sofas and high stools. The bar is large and occupies most of one side of the pub and features up to 6 ales and like all Nicholson’s pubs, each comes with tasting notes and the prices clearly displayed.
Outside is an impressive Victorian façade complete with a large ornate sign above the doorway and welcome mat surrounded by a mosaic bearing the pubs name. There are a few tables and chairs where you can watch the world go by.
The Beer
Being operated by Nicholson’s, you can expect a good selection of well kept beers from breweries around the country. The last time I visited was in October 2009 and beers available were from St Austell, Black Sheep, Timothy Taylor, Fullers, Davenports and Wychwood.
Judging by reviews on Beer in the Evening, the Feathers is still serving a good selection.
Other Pubs in the Area
Just a short walk away from The Feathers are numerous other pubs including the Buckingham Arms (read review), owned by Youngs, the Sanctuary House Hotel, owned by Fullers, and The Old Star, owned by Greene King.
