The Ledger Building, London

Brief History and Interior
The building dates back to 1803-4 and originally a dock office. It was remodeled as the ledger office in 1827.
The entrance to the pub is through a grand Doric portico which leads into a main hallway. Leading off the hallway to the right is a large room and the bar. The long bar runs down almost the entire length of one of the walls and the rest of the room is filled with the usual Wetherspoons furniture, quiz machines and big screens.
To the left of the hallway are three rooms decorated in three different styles. These rooms are quieter than the main bar area and are more suited to dining. One of the rooms has access to a small outside seating area. There is also a much larger seating area outside the front entrance to the pub.
At the rear of the hallway and down a staircase are the toilets. Even if you don’t need to use the toilet, it’s worth visiting the area to see the original wooden support beams and the fascinating old photographs of the docks.
The Beer
Like most Wetherspoon pubs there is a good selection of ales available. Apart from the usual beers that are available at all Wetherspoons, when I visited in May 2011 there were two beers available from the Tunbridge Wells brewery Royal (RPA and Bitter), Adnams Broadside, Thornbridge Jaipur, Fullers London Pride and Saltaire Liquorice.
