Belmont Station, Portland, OR

Brief History
Belmont Station opened in 1997 and was originally located next to the Horse Brass Pub on SE Belmont St. Upon opening it was the first beer bottle store in Northwest USA.
The store was successful and a few years ago it moved a few blocks north to its current location on SE Stark St. At the same time, the Biercafé was added.
Interior
Belmont Station is split into two distinct halves – a bottle shop and a bar.
The bottle shop features a staggering 1,300+ different beers properly stored under UV-filtered light in order to ensure that the beers kept in top condition. Impressively, they maintain a fairly accurate list of all bottled beers on their website. As well as bottles, Belmont also has an impressive selection of kegs available.
The other half is the Biercafé, a small bar a handful of tables and a long bar. The bar serves a good selection of beers on tap and holds regular tasting sessions with breweries from all over the US.
Beers
In addition to the 1,300+ or so beers from across the USA and beyond, Belmont Station had around 15 or so beers on tap. Rather than serving mainstream beers, Belmont specialises in beers that are harder to find or are more unusual.
For example at the beginning of October, 2011, some of the beers available were Epic Sour Apple Saison, Epic Smoked and Oaked Belgian and many fresh hop beers.
