The Tin Goose, Heathrow Airport Terminal 1
Posted on 10. Jan, 2012 by Robert Gale in Pubs

Brief History
The Tin Goose is named after the first all-metal aeroplane, the Ford Trimotor, aka the Tin Goose. First produced in 1925, the Tin Goose first flew in 1926. A total of 199 were built and 18 still exist today.
Owned by Geronimo Inns, the Tin Goose was the first airport pub for the group and it is located in the departure lounge of Terminal 1.
Interior
Taking up a sizable 4,100sq/ft in the corner of the Terminal 1 departure lounge the pub offers plenty of places to relax whilst waiting for your flight. It offers views of the apron should you wish to watch the hustle and bustle of the planes taxiing and refuelling or you can relax in one of the many spaces decorated with classic travelling items such as large trunks and world maps.
The Beer
Ales are available both on hand pump and when I visited in September, 2011, straight from the cask. The ale selection isn’t fantastic with ales such as Bombardier and London Pride being available.
