The Interior
Located on the ground floor of a modern office building, PNB has a quirky interior with some impressive neon graffiti and posters decorating the wall along with ductwork and a concrete floor that give it a slightly industrial feel. A large central bar has plenty of room for both those that like to sit at the bar whilst still allowing access for people to buy drinks. No food is served at PNB but they actively encourage you to bring your own or have it delivered.
The Beer
Co-owned by the organiser of the Monterey Beer Festival, you can expect PNB to have a good selection of beer. Around a dozen beers are available on tap featuring beers from Californian breweries and beyond. When I visited in September, 2012 beers from Sierra Nevada, Port Brewing, Anchor, Green Flash, New Belgium, Lagunitas and Almanac as well as wheat beers from Erdinger and Maisels.
Fridges line almost the entire length of one wall and are well stocked with bottles and cans from the US and rest of the World. All are keenly priced and are comparable to retail shops. If you want to drink any of the bottles in the pub, a modest $1 charge is added.
