About Yard House
Created by entrepreneur Steele Platt in Southern California in the 1990s, the aim was to offer one of the largest selections of beer along with a diverse menu of American food. The first Yard House opened on December 7th, 1996 in Long Beach. There are currently 40 Yard Houses located in 13 US States with more venues due to open in other cities and states.
Each Yard House features a large island bar featuring a huge selection of beers (from 100+ to 250!). A glass-enclosed keg room houses up to 5,000 gallons of beer kept at a constant 34-36F.

The large corner property is very spacious offering a large amount of seating both for dining and drinking. The large island bar features plenty of seating although the venue does get busy on weekend nights. Much like many bars of this type, the interior is dark and numerous screens show a variety of sporting events.
The food menu is extensive and features salads, pastas, sandwiches, street tacos, grilled burgers, individual-size pizzas, seafood, steaks and ribs.
Like other Yard House venues, a large number of the beers are permanently available on tap. Not all will always be available but with so many to choose from, it shouldn’t be difficult to find something you like.
In addition to the core offerings there is also the Chalkboard Series which features a monthly rotating selection of five draught and five bottled beers. The beers on the list may be more unusual or hard-to-find or could be seasonal such as an Oktoberfest or Pumpkin beer.
