Fuller’s Brewery (Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C.) is London’s only remaining traditional family brewer.

About the Brewery

Based at their historic Griffin brewery in Chiswick, west London, they have been brewing beer there since 1845. As well as brewing quality ales, they also manage an estate of over 360 pubs across the South of England. Their range of beers can be found across the UK and beyond in particular London Pride, their biggest selling beer.

Brewery Tours

Fuller’s offer guided tours of the brewery between Monday and Friday and last approximately 1½ -1¾ hours. The tours are conducted by knowledgeable guides, some of which have worked at the brewery for many years. The tour takes in the entire brewing process including a view of the keg and cask racking line. Some of the larger breweries (e.g. Greene King), fill the casks and kegs in a separate site so it’s good to be able to observe this part of the process. The tours currently cost £10 for adults.

The tour concludes with a generous tasting session in the old Hock Cellar. The large cellar used to be used to store beer and now house a museum containing examples of old Fullers bottles and cans and advertising campaigns amongst other things. There is also the small but well stocked bar. You have 30 minutes to sample as much as you like from their range of beers including Golden Pride and Vintage ale.

As well as the tour there is a well stocked brewery store on site as well as the Mawson Arms, the brewery tap that serves the range of beers as well as food. The pub appeared to be very popular with brewery workers. This is where the brewery tours begin and it’s a good place to end your visit to Fuller’s.
