Micro Bar, Manchester

About the Pub
Micro Bar consists of a small bar and a small but well stocked bottle shop. There isn’t any seating as such provided by the pub, instead you can use the seating that’s provided for all stalls in the food court. You can either pull up a still at the bar or sit in the mean chairs around it. And due to the pub being located in the food court, there is no shortage of meals and snacks should you feel peckish.
I’m unsure of the history of the pub but it has been owned by the Manchester brewery Boggarts since around early 2009. According to Tandleman’s beer blog, prior to being owned by Boggarts the pub was a bit hit and miss. A look on Google Street View shows that it used to be called the ‘Paradise Brewery Bar’ and even more ‘micro’ than the present bar. The Paradise Brewery Bar closed in September 2008.
The Beer
On tap are three ales, at least one from Boggarts along with two guests. Along with ale there is a traditional cider, Küppers Kölsch, Phoenix lager and Phoenix fruit beer. Prices are good with ales costing less than £3 a pint.
The bottle shop features a mixture of British ales and Belgian and Ameican imports. You can also pick up beers from the Boggart brewery including their rum porter and the stronger extra rum porter.
Visiting Micro Bar
The bar is located in Arndale Shopping Centre near the High Street entrance and due to it’s location means that it’s opening hours are restricted. It’s open Monday – Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 12-5.
